As you may recall, New York's queen bee Tinsley Mortimer has been acting as "lifestyle director" for B+B Investment Group, a real estate-focused private equity fund run by Ilan Bracha. If it may have seemed unlikely that Ms. Mortimer would be willing to step foot in something so dreary as the headquarters of a real estate company (in Plum Sykes's The Debutaunte Divorce, a character based on Ms. Mortimer says, "I only dress for evening… so obviously office life doesn't work for me"), now there is proof that she totally will, provided cameras are present!

Cityfile has posted a clip from CW11's NY Residential featuring Ms. Mortimer explaining her role at the firm. Though her first official project was said to be lending her vision to a hotel and condominium project on West 57th St., it seems that she also contributed to the design of B+B's offices in Trump Tower. We're treated to a couple shots of her handiwork--a plain white couch with black pillows, black conference tables paired with black rolling chairs, a red wall. "Ilan hired me for me and all the various aspects of me, and all the various aspects that make me who I am," she says in the video. "My experience in the fashion world, in the social world here in New York, and my travels and everything. They thought that I could use that experience to help create a new creative edge for them, to sort of use my style to set the tone."

Question: What did polite city-dwellers do, say, the weekend of November 2, 1929, with the markets fully imploded but the world-historical ramifications not yet clear and the breadlines not yet formed?

Answer, if that depression was great like this one: Attend a screening of the latest teen sex comedy (or is that teen-sex comedy?) at the Tribeca Grand.

This past Sunday it was Sex Drive, an oddly restrained little composition in the American Pie school whose craftsman-like simulation of raunch almost made up for its workmanlike impression of heart. The thrill might be gone (surely as much the Daily Transom's problem as the film's), but the mileposts were reached with unimpeachable alacrity: virginity, semen-involving hijink, astonishingly attractive best-friend girl understood as edgy due to darkness of hair, improbable set-up of road trip leading to sex-opportunity (sexportunity?), execution of said road trip, sight gag involving an elder gentleman's scrotum, an imbecilic Seth Green as Amish mechanic, complications to said road-trip and said sex-opportunity, mutual realization of unspoken more-than-friend status with best-friend girl. On Saturday, Oct. 11, Lindsay Lohan arrived at the Diesel xXx Rock & Roll Circus party at Pier 3 in Brooklyn. As celebrities like Taylor Momsen, Emma Watson, Mark Ronson, Chace Crawford, and Peaches Geldolf made their way down the red carpet, Ms. Lohan managed to stand out. 

Dressed in a pleated mini skirt, asymmetrical checkered top, motorcycle jacket and hooker heels, something seemed off about Ms. Lohan's seemingly exposed legs--as in, her feet did not match them in color. Ms. Lohan was suffering from a severe case of a farmer's tan, which we presume was caused by pairing skirts or shorts with ankle-high shoes. The result is a tan that made it look as if she was wearing copper-toned leggings. (We would've advised the actress to rub some self-tanner on her feet on the car ride over.)   read more »

Odd couple alert: Ivana Trump and Sarah Palin.

According to Page Six Magazine, the two first met eight years ago, when Ms. Trump visited Anchorage to promote her perfume and jewelry lines. (Ivana Trump, big in Alaska!) Ms. Palin, the former beauty queen, turned out to be such a fan that she drove two hours from her hometown of Wasilla to meet Donald's ex.

"She stood in line to get the perfume and a signed copy of my book," Ms. Trump told Page Six. "So we chatted and bonded. We have a lot in common. She's down to earth; I'm down to earth. In business, I use the skills I picked up as a ski champion rather than shooting moose, but there's nothing wrong with that."

(Perhaps it was during that meeting that the two ladies traded tips on the perfect up-do.)  read more »

It looks like residents of the Soho block recently taken over by Delicatessen--one of whom peed on the restaurant's glass roof in early September--still have not warmed up to their loud, cocktatil-gulping neighbor. Last night a friend and I were walking around SoHo and saw Delicatessen...Within five minutes of sitting at the bar, some young super-angry dude storms up to the bar and starts laying into the bartending staff screaming shit like, 'Fuck you!!!
