Justice to Rule Today on Important Motion in Rather v. CBS

Today Dan Rather will return to a courtroom in Lower Manhattan.
There, Justice Ira Gammerman is scheduled to make a ruling this afternoon on CBS's motion to dismiss Mr. Rather's amended complaint in his $70 million civil lawsuit against his former employers.
Expect updates as more news breaks.
Dan Rather was what good journalism was all ABOUT! I am now 56 yrs old & I have watched him since JFK was gunned down in 1963! I was just in the 6th grade at the time, but watching him report the news & my parents reaction to his great reporting has been very interesting & grounding over the years....My parents are both now deceased, but they both loved Dan Rather! I have a daughter (now 33) who used to jokingly say she wanted to take over Dan Rather's job one day because she also loved his reporting (she took journalism in college).
CBS made a grave error in their treatment of Dan Rather & I hope he prevails to victory in his lawsuit against them.
It's a shame that CBS & others like them were afraid to allow someone like Dan Rather to report anything against the Bushes---look what it has gotten us!!! Two wars & a busted up economy & don't forget The Wall Street debacle!

...The Bush administration had most of the Media afraid to report anything negative about them because if you did, you were then called un-patriotic...what a SHAME! It seems John MsCain is trying this same tactic...I see it's not working as easy for him...because the truth has a way of finding its way to the surface no matter how one trys to suppress it.
...When I watch the so called Pundits & Talking Heads now on "The Main Stream Media" it sickens me. I don't need anyone to tell me how I should feel or vote after I see for myself what this present Bush Administration has done to us both in the USA & Globally! I mostly get my news & updates through several different sources, but CBS is no longer one of them!
Lol, yeah, speak the truth Patty! Oh, wait. The *truth* is that your boy Dan either mistook an obvious forgery for the real deal, or was so blinded by hatred of the sitting president of the United States and so in the tank for John Kerry that he didn't perform due diligence in checking on the documents (forged by a modern computer and word processing program by the way) before going public with them in an attempt to smear Bush.
Now, Mr. Rather had a good career before that, and I respect some of the things he's done, but the above, and the reason he was fired were beyond the pale.
Unfortunately, the cognitive dissonance bouncing around your head will prevent you from actually accepting the fact that this was what really happened, but it's worth a shot.
