DiCaprio Captured to Play Atari Nerd

Guys, where has Leonardo DiCaprio been? He made a huge critical comeback performance in 2006's The Departed and we haven't seen him on the big screen since. But according to his IMDB page, he's been pretty busy, including a starring role in Ridley Scott's new movie House of Lies, which comes out this year. He's also been working on Scorsese's Shutter Island with other bright and glittery folks. But maybe he has also been holed up playing video games, researching as a producer and star of a biopic about Nolan Bushnell, one of the creators of Atari. Variety reports:

Paramount Pictures has snapped up a pitch titled “Atari,” with Leonardo DiCaprio attached to star.

Written by Brian Hecker and Craig Sherman, project is a biopic about entrepreneur Nolan Bushnell, the creator of Atari and one of the founding fathers of the vidgame industry.

Bushnell and Ted Dabney founded Atari in 1972 and were instrumental in bringing arcade games, home vidgame consoles and home computers to the masses. Among the company’s contributions were Pong and the Atari 2600.
