Taxpayer Against the "Madrassa"

Here’s a minute-long clip of Beth Gilinksy, one of the people protesting the city’s first Arabic-themed public school, the Khalil Gibran International Academy.

Gilinsky, president of a group called Jewish Action Alliance and a member of the Stop the Madrassa Community Coalition, says that the group opposes the school because it uses public money to promote religion, although her real concern seems to be that the religion in question is Islam, and that the school will somehow breed terrorism.

Pamela Geller, a conservative blogger and former associate publisher of the New York Observer, is also a member of the group.

It's hard to say what's more sad and disturbing in the reaction against this school--the ignorance or the hate.

It appears that the best that the proponents of this "Madrassa" can do is to call its opponents vile names, instead of responding to the arguments. The people behind this school are following a hidden agenda, and their suppoprters are being suckered in.
