Dinkins on a Bloomberg Presidential Run

In the midst of increasingly frequent rumors about a presidential bid, Michael Bloomberg held his annual prayer breakfast at the New York Public Library this morning, giving Democratic Mayor David Dinkins a shout-out from the podium.
Afterwards, I asked Dinkins about his feelings about a Bloomberg run.
"I'm a big fan of the mayor, I like him a lot," he told me. But he added, “I stay with my friends. Hillary and Bill Clinton supported me, and I will support them."
I asked him what he would do if she wasn’t the nominee.
"Then, that's a whole other question," he replied.

Dear David Dinkins.We are all glad to read about the contemplations you expresed about the tradtional democratic leadership vis avis The Michael Bloomberg "factor"in the American political landscape of the year 2008.As an elder of the democratic leadership and as the first recorded black political stride as former mayor of New York city,every cadid political observer would take your observations and comments as well as experiance as standard parameters in the forecast of "the what would be the implications of the Michael Blomberg factor in the current presidential run" As a person of mainstream political enterprise of the Afro-American community and as a symbol of tradtional political cooperations,the conclustions of you-David Dinkins could shade positive light as to "The Michael Bloomberg factor in the third party politics of the given American debate" The centeral question to all would be -Is America ready for its first Jewish president within the context of The Judo-christian tradtion and civilization of the west.Are the American minor communities ready to pass the tests of race and faith in favour of pragmatic platforms that would outdate the two party system.David Dinkins-your intellegence as well as advice is most valued.
It is precisely this reasoning that doesn't make sense in the 21st Century. We are seeing a cast of characters trotted out aka Bob Johnson, literally strutting and/or a former President WAGGING HIS FINGERS at journalists, voters, etc. -- in a Tammany Hall rationale for chosing our LEADERSHIP to begin the process of disentangling our Nation from a roster of problems that were created over the last 30 years. Mayor Bloomberg...RUN! Then, perhaps we can get beyond the gender/race baiting to REAL substantive discourse and accountability for the last 30 years Americans who were/are too busy JUST SURVIVING, to process -- constantly being SPUN by a Bush cabal or Clinton cabal. Barack could use your help and gravitas. He has gone through the rigors of campaigning and raised grass roots money to do so -- to challenge the status quo. Alternately, if he doesn't survive the Clinton Machine, YOU MUST STEP UP TO THE PLATE AS THE PATRIOT YOU ARE and all Americans must immediately write small checks if you do to thwart the discussion you are BUYING the Presidency. It is worth $25 to STOP THE CLINTON MACHINE FROM HIJACKING OUR NATION...AND PUTTING THE LINCOLN BEDROOM FOR SALE SIGN OUT...AGAIN. We are in real trouble and that is clearly not THEIR priority. We should have had enough of the commoditization of the PRESIDENCY.
